Wireless Sensor System

Wireless Sensor System

Sometimes, it can be difficult or nearly impossible to run cables to sensors. In such cases, wireless sensors are the solution.

This wireless sensor system consists of one or more wireless sensors and a receiver, which connects to the system using either ModBus or 0-10V signal. However, if using the 0-10V option, only one sensor can be connected to the receiver.

Since different parameters may need to be regulated, it is possible to combine up to three different measurement units in a single sensor. The available measurement options include humidity, temperature, CO₂, and VOC.

On the front of the sensor, there is a red LED indicator. The LED blinks twice briefly when the connection to the receiver is established. When the battery is low, the LED blinks briefly at intervals of 5-10 seconds.

The wireless sensors are powered by three 1.5V AA alkaline batteries, providing a long battery life of 3-4 years before a battery replacement is necessary.

  • Sensor dimensions: 85x85x30 mm
  • Communication protocol: MiWi
  • Wireless range: 75-100m under normal conditions

Receiver

The receiver should be placed next to or on the Air Handling Unit / product needing sensor input to ensure the best possible signal conditions, as these products gennerally are enclosed in metal cabinets that block wireless signals.

The receiver communicates with the system via either 0-10V signal or ModBus. When using the 0-10V signal, only one sensor can be connected to the receiver. However, when using ModBus, up to 16 sensors can be connected in a network. When multiple sensors are used, each sensor’s network number is set using DIP switches located under the sensor’s cover.

  • Power supply: 15-24V DC
